This is the transcription file of the Podcast “Kiki and Ingrid” A young chinese woman meets Ingrid, the singer, for to talk about her music. In this post, we talk about the song “I want to love you more Jesus” When I Put My Hand in Yours When I put my hand in yours, when I see your loving face, when I feel your heart so near me —I praise you. When nothing else seems important, and your presence tells me you love me —I praise you. I want to love you more, Jesus, not only to know you.I want to love you more, Jesus, not only because you bless me,but because you arethe friend of my life. I am hungry for you.I give thanks to you,for you loved me first. When I look at the stars on a dark night,I think of you —and I praise you. When I feel your presenceand fall into your arms —arms that are my refuge —I praise you. Jesus, Lamb of God,faithful and gentle, you are the passion of my life.I love you, Lord. When you put your hand in his hand, when you see his loving face, what kind of feeling arises? The idea in this part of the text is that Jesus walks beside me. I can only put my hand into someone’s hand who is beside me — not above, not behind, not far away. Jesus is near me, and in situations that frighten me, I take his hand spiritually. When my daughter was at the dentist, I took her hand and said, “When it hurts, press my hand.” We can do the same with Jesus: press his hand, call on him, and cry with him when something is difficult in our life. 18 The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.— Psalm 145 When the text talks about Jesus’ loving face, it means that I can see him with my spiritual eyes. He is always looking at me and prays for me at the Father’s throne in heaven. When I am in his presence, I can look at him with my spiritual eyes and have a relationship full of love with him. When you look at the stars on a dark night, when you miss someone deeply, what do you do in your life? The text talks about how I think of Jesus on a starry night. When I look at the stars, I think that the universe is gigantic, and there is a Creator who is even greater than the universe. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.— Romans 1 I believe that the happiness of our life is not here on earth, but on the other side — in eternal life — which we receive as a gift if we follow Jesus faithfully here on earth. And the people I already miss are there on the other side, and I will meet them again one day. If there is no love for Jesus, if there is no goal or destination in life — what will happen to you? The good question is: what are we living for without the passion for Jesus, without goals and destinations? 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.— 1 John 5 One Christian writer said: “You created us for yourself, and our heart is restless until it rests in you.” There is an empty space in our heart that only God can fill. This is why Jesus said: “Those who drink from me will never thirst, and those who eat from me will never hunger.” 13 Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again,14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”— John 4 Without Jesus we are running around, searching for amusements and many things. But when we have Jesus, we can calm down. Our life gains purpose and meaning, even if not everything is easy. Currently AI, like ChatGPT, is a highlight topic. In the future, AI may replace more than 50% of jobs. Facing such a situation — if Jesus cannot tell us what to do — will humans still believe in his love and praise him? The text says: “I want to love you more, Jesus, not only because you bless me.” Sometimes people behave like cats: when they want something from God, they come and put on a super holy face. When they get what they want, they run away and continue life without him. We should also come to God in times when there is no blessing. The Scripture says: “Seek first the kingdom of God, and you will receive the rest.” 25 Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin,29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.34 Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.— Matthew 6 This is a great promise. But it works only if we seek the kingdom of God, not just the blessings of God. So let us begin to pray for daily bread and seek the kingdom of God by reading the Bible or talking about him, as we do here. Then we can trust in his promise that he will provide what we need. As a young woman, I sometimes feel anxious when I think about future paths. I also want to say like my sister: “I give thanks to you.” But I feel I don’t deserve such love. Please say some words to today’s young people. Encourage them, maybe by creating a tale that evokes such a sense of destiny. The only thing I can say to you is to testify that what I have shared is true. I once lived through a difficult economic situation too. But I kept seeking God, writing music, and praising him — and I never starved. I don’t remember how, but friends came to my house and asked me to do work for them — paid work — so I had money every day to buy some rice. In my garden I had so many avocados that I could even share with others, and shortly after, the economic situation improved. Even as Christians, tests of faith will come. God wants to see our reaction: he wants us to trust and be faithful. Jesus said to Peter: “The devil demands to sift you all like wheat.” So if we go through a difficult period, it is better to believe more and not lose hope, rather than to throw away our faith and return to a life without Jesus. The only word of encouragement I have is to testify that I have experienced the truth of the Bible. Life goes well when we put its words into practice. 12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.— Hebrews 4 If you have a question or a comment about our podcast, please get in touch or leave a message in the comments.
