Author Michael Streissguth returns to discuss the history of Memphis radio station WDIA, the first station in the United States to be aimed at an African-American audience. Its influence was pervasive for decades from a musical, economic, and social perspective, and the station continues to be influential to this day. Dr. Streissguth has recently written an in-depth article about WDIA for Living Blues magazine (issue # 270).
